Wofford homer lifts Range Riders to Friday win
Brody Wofford broke a 1-1 tie with a three-run home run in the fifth inning, and the Glacier Range Riders downed Missoula 4-1 in Pioneer League baseball Friday at Flathead Field.
Wofford’s 10th homer of the season — and third in two nights — came with two out in the fifth and brought in Ben MConnell, who’d tripled, and Brandt Broussard, who walked.
That offset a game-tying solo homer by Missoula’s Nick Gatewood in the second inning. In the first Wofford singled in a run to gave the Range Riders (4-6 this half) a brief 1-0 lead.
Drew Holweger got the win in relief of Glacier starter Kevin Kyle, who lasted 4 2-3 innings. Holwager got four outs; three relievers took an inning each from there, with Austin Steinfort taking the ninth and earning his third save.
