Jana Kay Walters Grundmeier, 71

Jana Kay Walters Grundmeier, 71, passed away May 18, 2022, while visiting family in Arma, Kansas.

Jana was born on May 27, 1950, in Whitefish where she lived all of her life. She loved the mountains and was proud to be a fourth generation Montanan.

After graduating from Whitefish High School she attended beauty school in Kalispell and Billings. She loved her job. When she stopped hairdressing she took the time to focus on her family. Later in life she worked at Costco Demo Services and Target.

In 1971 she married Leroy Grundmeier of Blackduck, Minnesota. As newlyweds they spent most of their time living in logging camps.

Jana was always ready to help anyone. During her retirement she became very involved with the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed serving others and assisting in her community.

She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, brother, aunts, uncles and multiple nieces and nephews.

Jana is survived by her daughter and son-law Kenny and Kami Doty, and granddaughters Lillian and Eleanor; sister, Judy Sizemore; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Pat Walters; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and very dear friends.

She will be greatly missed.

Services will be held at Darlington Cremation and Burial Services in Kalispell on June 18 at 1 p.m. Graveside service will follow at Glacier Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Whitefish VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
