A Legion: Mariners get sweep, Twins rained out

POLSON — Sharp pitching performances and Dawson DuMont’s big day at the plate helped Mission Valley sweep a Class A Legion doubleheader from Kalispell Sunday, 9-0 and 4-1.

Cymian Kauley threw a one-hitter in the first game, and Cole Wadsworth allowed just three hits in the nightcap for the Mariners (25-7).

In the opener DuMont had a two-run triple in the third inning and belted a two-run homer in the fourth.

Espn Fisher had an RBI double for the Mariners, and Wyatt Wadsworth hit a two-run double in the fourth and an RBI single in the fifth.

Kauley allowed a single to the Lakers’ Kaden Drish in the third, and three walks. He struck out four.

DuMont hit a two-run single in the Mariners’ four-run fifth inning in the second game.

Kalispell (17-15) closed to 4-1 when Nate Skonard singled to lead off the sixth and eventually came in on Carter Schlegel's sacrifice fly.

Cole Wadsworth allowed one walk along with three hits, and struck out four. His one run allowed was unearned.

AA Mavs-Twins rained out

WHITEFISH — The Glacier Twins and Missoula AA Mavericks got in four innings before rains washed out their non-conference doubleheader Sunday.

The games likely won’t be made up; Glacier heads to Florence to play the Bitterroot Bucs on Tuesday.
