PaddleHeads' late rally dooms Riders
The Glacier Range Riders led the Missoula PaddleHeads after an Austin McNicholas homer at the bottom of the fourth inning, but the visitors battled back to win 5-3 in Pioneer League baseball Sunday at Flathead Field.
Up 3-0 from runs by Ben McConnell, Dean Miller and McNicholas, the Range Riders gave up three home runs to the PaddleHeads in the fifth, eighth and ninth innings. The Paddleheads took the lead for good with two runs in the ninth.
Glacier pitcher Andrew Stout faced 22 batters and struck out five. Dawson Day, who took the mound in the seventh, struck out two of the three batters he saw. Missoula pitcher Mark Timmons struck out two and saw 24 batters.
