A man confused by new crosswalk lights called the Kalispell Police Department reportedly wanting an explanation of how they worked. He said he didn’t know if he was supposed to stop and proceed, or remain stopped because they start out flashing yellow and then the two lights below start flashing red.

For the uninitiated, a flashing yellow light warns drivers to slow down at the crosswalk while a solid yellow light means prepare to stop. Solid red lights instruct motorists to stop. Flashing and alternating red lights mean proceed with caution — if the crosswalk is clear.

A driver’s alleged head bobbing disturbed someone enough to report her to police for appearing “very strung out,” saying they had video footage of her vehicle if needed.

A man reportedly began screaming at an employee and causing a scene in the parking lot because he was angry he had to pick up his children.

A man allegedly called the police in an attempt to help an intoxicated friend who was standing outside a fast-food restaurant “cussing up a storm.”

A man reportedly wanted to know what could be done about a Canadian who wasn’t making payments on a $6,500 bronze statue they purchased. He was advised to handle it as a civil case.

A driver reportedly spotted a man lying face down on the side of a road but was going too fast to stop and check if he was OK. Officers spoke with the man’s mother who gave him a ride home.

A shirtless guy was heard screaming and yelling outside a bar.

Although nothing criminal in nature was occurring at the time a woman called the Columbia Falls Police Department, she still wanted to report her “bad neighbors” for continuing to harass each other, mostly on the topic of dog poop. She complained that a firearm had been brandished last year; the duplex was “always having to clean up dog feces” and at one point someone took a shovel full of poop and threw it on her.

Officers found an elderly couple sleeping in their vehicle in a park and advised them of the park hours. The couple said they would move along in the morning and wouldn’t stay at any parks.

Someone involved in a previous argument with a man about a stolen bike said he returned to the location to say some “choice words” and left. Officers said they would attempt to contact him and advise him not to go back to the area.

A man pushing a bike on the shoulder of a road was reportedly stumbling and stepping in and out of traffic.
