Mountainfilm on Tour visits Whitefish and Bigfork

| March 10, 2022 12:00 AM

Mountainfilm on Tour brings a selection of culturally rich, adventure-packed and inspiring documentary films curated from the Mountainfilm festival in Telluride, Colorado. The tour will visit Whitefish at the O’Shaughnessy Cultural Arts Center on Monday, March 14, and Bigfork at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts on Tuesday, March 22, with films that explore themes connected to Mountainfilm’s mission of using the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world.

Mountainfilm on Tour in Whitefish and Bigfork is hosted by the Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation whose mission is to connect Americans with their wilderness heritage by providing access to and stewardship of the 1.5 million acre Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex. The foundation recruits and leads more than 300 volunteers on over 40 backcountry projects each summer, working to open trails, fight invasive weeds and restore heavily used areas in “the Bob.” In 2021, volunteer crews cleared over 500 miles of trail and treated close to 40 acres of weeds.

While hosting an inspiring collection of films, the show is also an opportunity to support the Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation’s 25th season of volunteer work projects in 2022.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the films start at 7 p.m. for both locations.

Tickets for Mountainfilm on Tour in Bigfork can be purchased online at bmwf.org, or in person at Electric Avenue Gifts and Rocky Mountain Outfitter.
