Missoula boy dies in Lake County ATV accident

An 11-year-old boy from Missoula died in Lake County on Sunday when an ATV he was driving rolled over.

According to a Montana Highway Patrol report, the accident happened on Canal Road near Pablo at about 2:50 p.m.

The boy was attempting to make a U-turn at Snyder Hill Lane when the Polaris X2 800 ATV went off the west side of the road and into an embankment. The ATV rolled, causing blunt force trauma to the boy.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The boy was wearing a helmet.
