Area grapplers headed for NHSCA nationals

A couple handfuls of Montana wrestlers, including Flathead High’s Anders Thompson, have been pre-seeded into the NHSCA High School Nationals that begins Friday in Virginia Beach, Va.

Thompson is seeded No. 7 at the 170-pound sophomore bracket. The Brave Brawlers are also represented by Gabe Lake (152 Junior) and Chase Youso (182 Senior) at the championships.

Thompson Falls’ Trae Thilmony is seeded 15th at 138 Senior, and Libby’s Jace DeShazer is competing at 182 Sophomore.

Seeded Montana wrestlers include: Sidney’s four-time champion Aden Graves, who is No. 4 at Senior 152; Bozeman three-time champion Avery Allen, No. 5 at Junior 138; and Austin Vanek of Cut Bank, No. 4 at 182 Senior.
