A Kalispell man is accused of sexually assaulting a minor girl while “play wrestling.”

Adam Patrick Pomerleau, 42, was booked into the Flathead County Detention Center on March 18 and charged with felony sexual assault. According to the jail roster, he was released the same day. His bail was set at $75,000.

Conditions of his release require Pomerleau to wear a GPS monitoring device and to have no contact with the alleged victim or witnesses.

Charging documents alleged that on Dec. 30, 2021, Pomerleau touched a minor girl’s breast while the two were play wrestling.

The girl notified a family member of the alleged assault and officers were dispatched to the Kalispell home. Officers spoke with Pomerleau, who admitted to wrestling with the girl, but denied the assault accusations.

Officers also spoke to the girl’s mother, who said she didn’t witness the alleged assault, but claimed that a similar allegation was made against Pomerleau previously.

During forensic interviews, the girl’s sibling also told detectives that Pomerleau likes to wrestle them often, and that he had allegedly grabbed her vagina and breasts on several occasions while wrestling.

Pomerleau’s next court appearance is set for March 31.

Felony sexual assault of a minor is punishable by up to life in prison.
