Business clinic

The Montana Department of Labor and Industry, Montana Department of Revenue, Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services, U.S. Department of Labor, and Montana Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve in partnership with local Chamber of Commerce, Job Service Employer Committees, and Montana State University are hosting assistance for business clinics statewide.

The clinic in Kalispell will be on May 18 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hampton Inn, 1140 U.S. 2.

The assistance for business clinics are designed to provide new and established businesses, accountants, bookkeepers, human resource professionals and attorneys with updated information on topics such as: the Montana Department of Revenue’s new Form MW-4 and their E-Services, unemployment insurance tax requirements, workers’ compensation coverage, independent contractor regulations, using labor market information to make business decisions, the Registered Apprenticeship Program, tax incentives, minimum wage, overtime, new hire reporting, and USERRA laws and regulations.

Whitefish chamber breakfast focuses on tourism

The Whitefish Chamber of Chamber will hold a Business Breakfast on Wednesday, May 11 at the Whitefish Moose Lodge. The breakfast will be a look ahead to the summer of 2022, and what it may hold for Whitefish and the Glacier National Park region. Speakers from Glacier National Park and the Whitefish Convention and Visitors Bureau will provide a comprehensive update on what to expect this summer.

Registration and buffet breakfast begin at 8:30 a.m. and the program along with a question and answer portion runs from 9 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.

Workshop on managing change

Whitefish Community Foundation will host an online workshop Thursday, May 12 with national business consultant Andy Robinson on the topic of managing change and leadership transitions. The workshop is part of the foundation’s Nonprofit Development Partnership program.

Robinson will discuss how organizations grow and change over time and how leadership needs change accordingly. He will provide tips for creating change at the personal, interpersonal and group levels and give an overview of how to design a succession plan.

The 90-minute online workshop begins at 11:30 a.m. There is no fee to participate, however, attendees are required to register in advance at whitefishcommunityfoundation.org/nonprofit-trainings.
