Lakers AA roll past Bitterroot Red Sox

Gage Brink had a triple and four RBI and Elijah Owens and Grady Drish had three RBI each as the Kalispell Lakers rolled past the Bitterroot Red Sox 14-8 in a Legion baseball game on Sunday.

Kalispell got the bats going early, as it scored nine runs in the first inning and was up 13-2 after four innings. The Red Sox made a bit of a run, scoring four runs in the fifth.

The Lakers made quick work of the Red Sox in the first game of Sunday’s twinbill as well, as they won 12-2 in a game shortened by the mercy rule.

Ostyn Brennan was 2-for-2 in that game with an RBI and Jackson Nelson had a triple and three RBI.

The Lakers scored 10 runs in the first inning of that one.

Oscar Kallis was 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI as the Kalispell Lakers A team defeated the Havre Northstars 18U 8-5 in the second game of Sunday’s twinbill. The win earned the Lakers a split on the day as Havre claimed the first game, 12-4.

Timmy Glanville contributed a double and an RBI for the Lakers in the second game. First game offensive leaders were Joey Thatcher, 2-for-4, Brysen Herion, 2-for-3 and Kaden Drish with a double and two RBI.

Cranbrook Bandits 7, Libby Loggers 2

LIBBY — The Cranbrook Bandits scored six runs in the top of the 7th inning Sunday as defeated the Libby Loggers, 7-2.

The game was tied at one when Cranbrook’s Vinny Fiorentino singled on the first pitch of his at-bat. That brought home one run and the Bandits rolled from there.

Libby tried to battle back, scoring one run in its half of the seventh, but it was not to be.

Tripp Zhang, Aydan Williamson, and Dylan Buckner each had multiple hits for Libby.
