Four double-winners take Flathead to victory
WHITEFISH — Brody Thornsberry swept the boys 100 and 200, and Dylan Zink, Taliana Miller and Lilli Rumsey Eash also won twice as Flathead won both sides of a track and field meet in Whitefish Thursday.
Race times were unofficial, but Flathead’s boys won a triangular meet with 85 points, to 35 for Whitefish and 22 for Browning. It was just Flathead and Whitefish for the girls: The Bravettes won 92-58.
Thornsberry won a very tight 200 with teammate Nate Prieto, 23.67 seconds to 23.67.
Zink won the long and triple jumps.
Browning’s Jeremy Bockus had an excellent 400; his winning time of 51.64 seconds is fifth in Class A.
Whitefish thrower Talon Holmquist swept the discus and shot, and went over 53 feet again in the latter (53-4).
Miller was the best in the javelin and shot put and Rumsey Eash took the 800 and 1,600. She ran her best-ever 800: 2:24.92.
Whitefish’s Brooke Zetooney won the girls 100 meters in 12.83, just off the 12.81 she ran on April 19. Teammate Maeve Ingelfinger swept the hurdles races.
