COLUMBIA FALLS — Aspen Dawson hit a two-out double, then came around to score the winning run on an error as Columbia Falls beat Polson 5-4 in a Northwest A softball showdown Saturday.

Sydney Mann doubled in a run in the four and scored for the Wildkats (20-3 overall, 8-0 in league) who beat Polson (16-6, 6-2 in league) for a second time this season.

Maddie Moultray went the distance on the mound, scattering nine hits and a walk. Two of her four runs allowed were earned, and she struck out four.

Polson had tied the game 4-4 in the top of the seventh with singles by Anna Vert, Katelyne Druyvestein and Nikki Kendall, with Kendall’s driving in two runs.

Druyvestein allowed just four hits but five walks. She allowed two earned runs and fanned six, and took the loss when Moultray’s grounder got through the second baseman for an error.
