Genevieve Anne Malkuch, 90

Genevieve Anne Malkuch, 90, made her journey to heaven on May 1, 2022, on a beautiful (May Day) morning.

Born on Jan. 30, 1932, in Glendive, Montana, she was the youngest child of William and Christina Sutherland. She married Elmer F. Malkuch on June 29, 1950. They had been married 50 years at the time of Elmer's death in 2000. Together they had three children, Gary, Steve and Marjean.

Gen is of the heroic generation that will be missed. She was a true Mother and Lady. She was Gracious, Faithful and Beautiful in every way. She had the rare gift of contentment, never wanting or needing. Her life was being at home, loving her family. She was a nanny to the Champoux family children for many years and remained a close friend of the family until her last day.

Over the years the family would participate in light-hearted bantering, to see which son, daughter, grandchild, or great-grandchild was her favorite. Of course, if you asked her — they all were.

Gen was preceded in death by her parents William and Christina Sutherland; her husband Elmer; her sisters Violet, Mary and Christine; her brother Robert, and her son Gary.

Gen is survived by her son Steve, his wife Tina; daughter Marjean, her husband Jack; daughter-in-law Cathy; grandchildren Mitch, his wife Libby; Jenny, her husband Eric; Stefan, his wife Patti; Jacklyn and Breanne; and great-grandchildren Madeline, Isabelle, Allie, Mavreric, Simon, Journie and Sage.

The memorial will be held at Eidsvold Lutheran Church, Friday, May 27, at 4 p.m., 5935 Highway 93 South, Somers, Montana. The online memorial service can be viewed at www.eidsvoldlutheran.net
