Mason DeWilliam Smith, 48

| May 22, 2022 12:00 AM

Mason DeWilliam Smith, our beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, nephew, cousin and friend, left this world much too soon at the age of 48.

Mason was born and lived in Kalispell, but also called Bigfork, Lincoln, and Bonners Ferry, Idaho, home. He graduated in 1993 from Lincoln High School with a small but tightknit class, most of whom still remain friends.

Mason was a skilled contractor, providing carpentry, drywall and painting services around the valley. Mason thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors; in the summers you could find him camping, fishing, prospecting, riding ATVs, and anything else that the valley has to offer in the warm months. He was a self-taught guitarist and had become quite proficient. Mason is remembered for his warm heart, comedic wit, and fun-loving spirit.

Mason was preceded in death by his parents, Markus Smith and Marcia Stevens; and grandparents, Howard and Laura Glazier, Marion and Vivian Smith, William and Delores (Morton) Sears, and Robert Stevens.

He is survived by his sons, Dakota Farrar and Trenton Smith; daughters, Thelina Conley, Lynae Smith and Nova Pharr; mother, Frances Smith; brothers, Miles Smith and Ryan Smith; sister, Aja Thomas; grandchildren, Marshall, Bailey and Amelia Farrar, and Ren and Khoen Smith; and numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be held on Friday, May 27, at 2 p.m. at the Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home in Kalispell.
