Loggers hold off KV Rangers
EUREKA — Caden Williams’ two-run single in the seventh inning broke a 9-9 tie, and the Libby Loggers held off the Kootenai Valley Rangers 11-10 for a Legion win Wednesday.
The Loggers (3-8) owned a 9-4 lead after Tripp Zhang’s three-run homer in the fifth, then saw the Rangers put together five hits and four runs in their half. Kyle Durden’s single drove in Tristan Butts with the tying run; the inning started with an error and was extended by two walks, a hit batter and a wild pitch that brought in a run.
Aiden Rose scored four times for Libby; Williams had three hits. For the Rangers, Coburn Hurst had two hits and two RBIs. Butts scored three runs, including one in the seventh.
MV Mariners 10, Mavs A 7
MISSOULA — Dawson Dumont hit two triples and a double and drove in two runs for the Mission Valley Mariners, who used a seven-run seventh to take command.
The nine-inning game ended with Missoula having the tying run on deck. Finn Davis hit an RBI double in the ninth for the Mavs.
The Mariners (6-1) had a triple parade in the seventh: Alex Muzquiz drove in two with his; Dumont followed with his first to make it 6-3; Ethan McCCaulley hit yet another to put the Ms up 8-3.
Cole Wadsworth doubled and scored in the inning as well. Dumont had his second RBI triple in the eighth.
