Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theater holds auditions

| November 10, 2022 12:00 AM

The Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theater invites students in grades three through adult to audition for its annual Christmas production “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.”

Based on the classic animated movie, the story tells the tale of a young Rudolph who, because of the appearance of his bright, shining nose, is ousted from the reindeer games in Christmas-town. He flees town, meets up with new friends Hermey and Yukon, and a series of funny and endearing adventures ensue, including a visit to the Island of Misfit Toys and trouble from the abominable Snow Monster. Rudolph journeys home, where a snowstorm of epic proportions is threatening Christmas. Can Rudolph save his family and friends and help Santa save the holiday?

Auditions will be held at the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre Afterschool Arts Center on 833 Grand Ave. Tuesday, Nov. 15.

• Grades 3 and 4: 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

• Grades 5 to 7: 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

• Grades 8 through adult: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

This production calls for a medium-sized cast and costs nothing to audition. There is a $50 fee to participate in the production if cast in the show. Prepare a 30-second monologue or selection from another play or book, and plan to learn and sing something. If you don’t have experience or can’t find something to prepare, materials will be provided for you. Tentative rehearsal schedules will be announced at the audition. Performances will be held Dec. 9, 10, 11, 16, 17 and 18.

Help is also needed with set building and technical assistance. Parental and student assistance is welcome. For more information, email bpct@bigforksummerplayhouse.com; or visit
