Columbia Falls speech wins first in East Helena

Columbia Falls High School speech and debate team swept up the competition in East Helena to win first on Nov. 19.

The Class A team amassed 148 overall points at the tournament for the win. Laurel took second place with 103 points and Billings Central, third with 47 points.

Whitefish High School also competed at the tournament, which featured 25 teams from east and west Montana, which Columbia Falls Head Coach Dawn Roe said is a rare opportunity prior to the state competition.
