Kalispell puts stormwater treatment facilities project out to bid
The Kalispell Department of Public Works is accepting bids from contractors to install new stormwater treatment facilities at several city locations.
The city is looking to install approximately three hydrodynamic separators, one stormwater filter, three manholes and 150 linear feet of 12-inch, 21-inch and 42-inch storm sewer pipe. The projects, which are slated to occur at Eighth Avenue West near the intersection with 11th Street West and on First Avenue West just south of the city shops and north of 18th Street West, will also include the refurbishment of pavement, sidewalk, curb and gutter, and landscape affected by construction.
According to the statement announcing the project, the city will award the contract to the lowest bidder, pending approval by Kalispell City Council.
City Engineer Keith Haskins said that the project will be funded by federal dollars through the American Rescue Plan Act. He estimated the budget for the work at between $600,000 and $900,000.
Contractors have until Dec. 8 to submit a bid for the project.
