| November 28, 2022 12:00 AM

The Great Whitefish Gingerbread Contest returns for a second year to the Whitefish Christmas Stroll in a celebration of community, with all entry fees and donations being matched dollar-for-dollar by Century 21 Deaton and Company Real Estate to raise both awareness and funds for Whitefish affordable housing.

Last year’s inaugural gingerbread contest raised $1,290 and was donated to the Whitefish Housing Authority.

Starting at 5 p.m. on Dec. 9, visitors to the Whitefish Christmas Stroll on Central Avenue are invited to view contest entries and vote for their favorites in two divisions. All entries will be displayed at the Century 21 tent, located in front of the Stumptown Art Studio. Winners will be announced at 8 p.m. and will take home the top prize of custom trophies created by Stumptown Art Studio. Also at the Century 21 tent, there will be free gingerbread cookie kits for the kids to take home and decorate.

Local businesses and the public are invited to join in the merriment, the contest rules are simple to include everyone. Entry fees are $50 for businesses and $30 for families/individuals. The entry deadline is Dec. 5.
