Jack 'Mick' Michael Kjelsrud, 71

Jack “Mick” Michael Kjelsrud passed away Oct. 4, 2022, at home.

He was born Dec. 22, 1950, in Great Falls to Melvin and Lois Kjelsrud. He was the youngest of three boys raised in Great Falls where he attended CM Russell High School. After completing high school, he served in the United States Navy stationed on the USS Shenandoah for four years.

Jack moved his family to Kalispell in 1975 where he worked for Peavey Thunderbird/WBC for a few years before working for Columbia Paint and Coating, now Sherwin Williams, where he retired after 30 years.

Jack was a good old Norwegian, always ready with a joke. In his younger years, he loved to waterski and camp with his family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, oldest brother Tom, and his middle daughter Kristen.

He is survived by his brother Charles “Chuck” Kjelsrud, two daughters Michel “Shelly,” her husband Micheal Huffield, and Karissa “Kari,” her husband Jeff Gries, grandchildren Andrew, Casey and Taylor Jensen, Connor and Alyssa “Aly” Gries, five stepgrandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be announced at a later date.
