Kalispell leaf pickup underway
In an effort to provide more effective and efficient leaf collection services, the Kalispell Public Works Department is instituting the leaf collection period this fall from Oct. 10 through Nov. 18.
Residents and business owners are encouraged to rake the leaves from the boulevard onto the street approximately 2 feet away from the curb. Residents should have leaves ready to the curb to not miss collection.
There is no set timeline for when crews will reach certain areas. City officials note that unpredictable leaf volumes and weather conditions make it not possible to know when areas will receive collection, however, crews make every effort to remove leaves as quickly as possible.
Leaves will not be picked up outside of the leaf collection season, which is subject to change due to weather conditions, officials said.
Contact Public Works for proper leaf disposal after the Leaf Collection Season or visit us on our website www.kalispell.com.
Bagged leaves should be placed in the alley and will be removed with alley cleanup.
Do not put rocks, dirt, cans, bottles, branches and items of this nature in the leaf piles because they may cause bodily injury and damage to machinery.
