Officers with the Kalispell Police Department investigated a possibly broken or damaged door handle in an area apartment after receiving a call from a concerned resident. The woman told arriving officers that the door jamb looked a little off. Investigators noted that the jamb appeared loose, but lacked signs of tampering. They advised the woman to contact the building’s repairman during the business week.

A caller reported barking dogs to dispatchers, saying the commotion had been going on for about an hour just north of where they lived. Responding officers located two of the dogs.

Reckless driving in an area parking lot prompted a resident to contact police. They reported seeing a gold sedan spinning in the lot and performing burnouts. The resident asked for extra patrols in the area.

Concerned about the potential for drunk driving, a caller told police a woman was attempting to leave a location after drinking. They unsuccessfully tried to dissuade her from getting behind the wheel. For her part, the woman asked that officers contact her before arriving. They were unable to locate the woman or her vehicle upon arrival.

A silver sport utility vehicle barreled through a homeowner’s fence and into several bushes, reported a neighbor. The driver backed up after the crash and drove off. Arriving officers, unable to find the homeowner, left a voicemail and a calling card.

Officers tracked down a homeless man who allegedly kicked the hood of one vehicle and punched the window of another. According to the owner of the former vehicle, who reported the damage, the strike was hard enough to bend the license plate.

For his part, the homeless man admitted bending the license plate of the vehicle. When officers relayed that back to the victim, he wasn’t interested in pursuing charges, but rather wanted police alerted to the display of aggressive and allegedly drunken behavior. Officers ended up giving the homeless man a ride to a local shelter.

A caller reported a dark green truck speeding through an area park. The caller recalled confronting the driver and asking him to slow down, which was met with silence. Ultimately, the driver of the truck ignored the request and went back to speeding around the park.

Officers collected needles found in a back alley.

A woman reported two bicycles stolen from her garage the night prior. Apparently, the garage door malfunctioned and stayed open overnight. The two bicycles were described as Huffy’s, one dark green and the other purple.
