Mavis worked at the KM Department store as manager and buyer of women and children’s clothing. It was there she met her soulmate, James Durado, who also had a daughter Lori who was loved as her own. Mavis and Jim experienced a special forever love for 34 years. Her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren, Brauhn and Seth, Billy and Tyler, along with three great-grandchildren Ezra, Tre Shaun and Maddox.

She was preceded in death by Gerald Johnson, James Durado, and parents Frank and Mary Roderick.

She is survived by sisters Bonnie and husband Dennis, and Moraine and husband Tim, son Jerry Johnson, daughter Tonya and husband Randy Meyers, and Lori and Bill Lowe; four grandsons, three great-grandsons, several nieces and nephews; and her lifelong best friends Robin and Jeff Borden and their children Brooke and Brandt whom she loved like her own.

To my mother, “Mom we miss you dearly. Thank you for being such a loving and caring soul. We look forward to that day when we are reunited in heaven. No goodbyes, only see you soon.”

No services are planned per her request. Her last message was “Don’t weep for me, look up to the clouds. I’ll be watching over you all.”
