Daniel ‘Dan’ Todd Bungay, 47

| October 26, 2022 12:00 AM

Dan fought to live, yet the world was too much to bear. Dan was born Nov. 10, 1974, in Great Falls to Iris Russell Bungay and Bruce Bungay. Dan passed away in one of his favorite places on Oct. 18, 2022.

Dan spent his early years on Gore Hill in Great Falls and later moved to the small town of Cutbank when he was in middle school. While in Cutbank, Dan formed many lifelong friendships. Dan later met Kristy and together they got married and had their son Brady who was the light of Dan’s life.

Dan and Erica met in 2013. They married Aug. 22, of 2015, which brought his bonus son/sous chef/super buddy, Jamison. Along with Jamison were Dan’s two bonus daughters, Makaylynn and Lynlee and, even more recently, a grandbaby, Millie Rae.

Dan lived an adventurous life. Dan loved exploring! Mostly Dan loved photography; he had a passion and a heck of an eye for photography. Dan should have become a chef, and anyone that knew him being invited for dinner was never a letdown. Dan was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed. He touched the lives of so many.

Dan was preceded in death by his mom Iris Russell Bungay, his father Bruce Bungay, his uncle Jim Karr, and three of his close friends Corey Harrison, Kris Harrison and Branden Boggs.

Dan is survived by his wife Erica Bungay, sons Brady Bungay and Jamison Thurgood, bonus daughters Makaylynn and Lynlee Thurgood, and brothers Corey (Kelli) Bungay, Troy (Debbie) Bungay and their families.

A celebration of life is being held on Oct. 29 at the Flathead fairgrounds under the grandstand at 2 p.m. This will be a potluck, so bring your favorite dish.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the GoFundMe for Dan’s family or any local suicide prevention group.

“Though you had to let go of this world to find peace, we hold on to your memory in our hearts. So you live forever.”
