Lyngholm, Sterck lead another Bravette sweep
Olive Lyngholm had 11 kills to lead a strong Flathead attack that carried the Bravettes past Missoula Hellgate in straight sets Thursday, in Western AA volleyball.
Lyngholm added five digs and Sienna Sterck had a fine all-around game on her home floor: four aces, eight kills and six digs.
Georgia Wilson added six assists and six kills for Flathead (7-17 overall, 6-8 in league matches), which takes the fifth seed into next week’s Western AA Divisional in Missoula.
The Bravettes will play No. 4 seed Helena Capital to open the Divisional, which takes place at both Big Sky and Hellgate schools, on Thursday.
“Tonight my team played together,” said Flathead coach Emily Russell, whose club beat Missoula Big Sky in three sets Tuesday. “Everybody stepped up, and you know it’s emotional the last home match of the season. But I think the girls were really dialed in. From start to finish we took care of the ball.”
Camille Sherill had 11 kills and 19 digs for the Knights (5-9, 6-18).
“Coming into Divisionals with two sweeps is pretty awesome,” Russell added. “We’ll just continue on and be ready to roll next week.”
