Clementa Cazan German was born in the city of Brasov, in the Transylvanian Carpathian Mountains of Romania. At age 6 she was accepted at the "Gheorghe Dima" School of Music in her hometown.

At age 9, she won the First National Place at the prestigious "Ciprian Porumbescu" Competition and also debuted in her first solo piano recital. Under the baton of the famous conductor Ilarion Ionescu Galati, she performed for the first time as soloist at age 12 years with the Gheorghe Dima Philharmonic, which marked the start of her career as a solo pianist.

In middle school she won many national competitions and, together with her two brothers, violinist Claudius and cellist Laurentius, the siblings were featured as a trio at the George Enescu international Music Festival on Romanian radio and television. She and her brothers traveled throughout Romania and performed on national radio and television.

At age 14 she was one of only three candidates to be accepted to the "George Enescu" Music Academy in Bucharest. In 1983, together with her family, she immigrated to the United States, and in 1984 was accepted as a full scholarship student at the prestigious Juilliard School of Music in New York City.

While at Juilliard, she won the Worcester Symphony Young Musicians Competition, and was a finalist in the Beethoven Concerto Competition. She was offered a Teaching Fellowship with the Piano Minor Department and in the Chopin/Beethoven Seminars. She traveled as a soloist, and with her family trio, throughout Europe, Canada, the United States and the Caribbean Islands.

She graduated with a master’s degree in piano performance from Juilliard in 1990 and founded New Tempo Music Studio where she currently teaches piano, music theory, voice and chamber music. She was also the music director of the First Presbyterian Church of Flushing, New York, and Old Westbury SDA Church for 30 years until moving to Kalispell in July.

Claudius Cazan was also born in Brasov, Romania. After studying music in Brasov and at the George Enescu Academy of Music in Bucharest for two years, he came to the U.S. to study in New York at the Juilliard School of Music. He graduated from Juilliard in 1989 with a degree in violin performance. While at Juilliard, he was introduced to the world of electronic music. During his master’s studies, he accepted a teaching fellowship

at Juilliard for three years with the Literature and Materials of Music Department. Cazan taught music theory and electronic music to undergraduate and graduate students during his fellowship. His electronic compositions have been played at Juilliard and Aspen, Colorado, during the 1990, 1991 and 1996 electronic music workshops.

His chamber music career started early when, at the age of 11, along with his brother and sister, he was featured live on the National Radio of Romania as a participant in the George Enescu International Chamber Music Festival as a composer and performer. Cazan owned CMC Productions Digital, a project recording studio dedicated to Christian music. His discography includes works for violin and synthesizers, electronic classical performances and contemporary and traditional Christian vocal recordings. Cazan lives in Kalispell and teaches violin, piano, music theory and ear training. He has a passion for electronic arts and professional digital photography as well.
