The Kalispell Police Department is on the lookout for two more suspects connected to an Oct. 16 home invasion that ended with one alleged would-be burglar suffering a gunshot wound.

Officials confirmed they were looking into additional individuals Oct. 27, the same day Kyle Smith, 32, was arraigned in Flathead County District Court on felony burglary and aggravated burglary charges. Prosecutors allege that Smith forced his way into a Sixth Avenue East North home and pepper sprayed one resident before another shot him.

According to court documents, the residents told officers that three people were involved in the foiled burglary, though authorities made no mention of the other two when they turned to the public for help in tracking down Smith on Oct. 17.

Smith was found nursing his gunshot wound the next morning after allegedly breaking into another house nearby.

Authorities issued no other information about the two outstanding suspects, saying only that the case remained under investigation.
