| October 30, 2022 12:00 AM

Dorothy M. McCrudden, 81, of Eureka, Montana, passed away at home on Oct. 25, 2022.

Dorothy (Swavely) McCrudden was born in Berks County, Pennsylvania, on June 29, 1941. She was raised by her grandparents, Nathan and Katie Swavely in Parker Ford, Pennsylvania. She graduated Owen J. Roberts High School in 1960 and then married her sweetheart Dennis McCrudden on Jan. 21, 1961.

They moved to Montana in 1966, residing up LoLo Creek for many years, with a short stay in Kalispell; they then found their dream home in Eureka.

Dorothy worked for the Missoula Camp Fire Girls, Woodman School District, Montana Bank and was vice president of 1st Security Bank in Missoula. She helped out her husband Dennis with Rice's Reuseables and later worked side by side with Dennis at several Six Star and Dollar stores throughout Western Montana. She operated the Cards and More Store in Missoula for a short time.

She enjoyed traveling with Dennis to NASCAR races, auctions and visiting friends and relatives. She really enjoyed her trip to Ireland with Dennis' relatives and her kidnapping to Canada by her daughters. She was an avid fan of the University of Montana football and basketball, especially the Lady Griz.

Dorothy always had a kind word, a thoughtful card or a helping hand for those who knew her.

Dorothy will be greatly missed by her husband Dennis McCrudden; daughter, Denise (Steve) Schroeder of Humboldt, South Dakota, son Dwayne (Julie) McCrudden of Missoula, daughter Deanna McCrudden of Blacksburg, Virginina; grandchildren, Kris (Amber) Schroeder and Jason Schroeder, both of South Dakota, Dustin (Bekka) McCrudden of Montana, and Courtney McCrudden of Washington; great-grandson, Gavin Schroeder of South Dakota; her sister-in-law, Janice McCrudden of Pennsylvania; and special family friends, Rod and Sherie Leese. Many friends and other relatives will also miss her cards or calls.

Per Dorothy's request there will be no services.
