Robert Donald Iverson

Robert Donald Iverson was welcomed into his heavenly family on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2022.

Robert “Bob” was born on Oct. 7, 1938, the eldest of three boys born to Iver and Charlotte Iverson. He grew up in Kalispell and then moved to the Bissell area in 1952.

He began logging with his father and logging became his profession. He and his brother, Tom, owned and operated Iverson Brothers Logging.

He married Susan Hutchens on July 1, 1962. They made their home in the Bissell area. There they raised three daughters, Brenda, Wanda and Roberta “Herbie."

Bob served on the Bissell School Board for several years. He was active with the Montana Logging Association.

Bob was a man of faith. He was a longtime member of Calvary Lutheran Church serving on the church council, teaching Sunday school and leading bible studies. He was active in the Christian Loggers organization and involved in Kogodus Ministries and shared his faith with people in Montana, Germany and Japan.

Bob liked to laugh and tell jokes and he kept his sense of humor up to the end.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kenneth.

Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Susan; daughters, Brenda Wilmore, of Kalispell, Wanda (Pat) Brosten of Fairfield, and Roberta (Kelvin) Gebhardt of Helena; three grandchildren, Britney (Jesse) Chase and Tyrg Brosten of Fairfield, and McKoy Gebhardt of Helena; and two great-granddaughters, Brier and Maeve Chase; his brother Tom (Linda) Iverson of Whitefish; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Nov. 2 at Calvary Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. Reception in the church fellowship hall to follow. A private family burial will occur at Glacier Memorial Gardens.
