Assistance for Business Clinics focuses on resources

Businesses looking for guidance about resources to improve their operations can attend an upcoming Assistance for Business Clinics (ABC) sponsored by Job Service Kalispell, Job Service Polson, and the Montana Department of Labor & Industry.

The clinic will be Tuesday, Sept. 13 from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hampton Inn, 1140 U.S. 2, Kalispell.

Assistance for Business Clinics provides new and established employers, accountants, bookkeepers, human resources professionals and attorneys the opportunity to meet with state workforce development experts to learn about state and local resources available to businesses, including: Montana Minimum Wage, Unemployment Insurance, Workers’ Compensation Law, Using Independent and Construction Contractors, Overtime Regulations, Labor Law Posters, Using Labor Market Data, Montana Registered Apprenticeship and Job Service Montana.

Clinics also provide continuing education credits for attendees.

CF chamber luncheon

The Columbia Falls Chamber of Commerce will hold its September luncheon on Sept. 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cedar Creek Lodge, 930 2nd Ave W, Columbia Falls. Kalispell chamber networking

The Kalispell Chamber of Commerce is holding its UNWIND business after hours networking on Sept. 13 from 5-6:30 p.m. at Clark Auto Group-Nissan and Hyundai. The networking event is free.

Whitefish chamber networking

The Whitefish Chamber of Commerce will hold its Gone Fishin’ event hosted by Tamarack Cannabis on Sept. 15 from 5-7 p.m. The free networking event will be at 151 Business Center, Loop, Ste C, in Kalispell.

Roundtable focuses on government contracts

The Montana Procurement Technical Assistance Center will hold a roundtable discussion on Thursday, Sept. 15 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. designed to assist small businesses with navigating and benefiting from doing business with the federal government and large federal contractors. Representatives from Northrop Grumman Corporation, Honeywell, and 4M Research will showcase large federal contractors and small businesses currently doing business with either Northrop or subcontractors. Also joining will be Jayce Blood, Director of Business Operations/Small Business Specialist at Malmstrom Air Force Base.
