Joan Siderius, 57

| September 4, 2022 12:00 AM

Joan Siderius, 57, passed away on Aug. 21, 2022 in Kalispell from stupid cancer.

Joan was born June 18, 1965 in Olympia, Washington. The daughter of Pauline Coveney and Basil Badley, she graduated from Holy Names Academy in Seattle in 1983, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from University of Portland in 1987. Joan worked in the Kalispell Regional Hospital (Logan Health) in both the NICU and OB departments, as well as at Sunnyview Pediatrics and Family Born where she served countless families and their babies with her trademark humor and compassion.

She met her “handsome husband,” Mike Siderius, while she was working in the NICU at Swedish and he was working for Boeing. The two were married in 1992 in Seattle before settling in Kalispell to begin and raise their family. They had 20 happy years together.

Joan was a member of Trinity Lutheran Evangelical Church and loved Jesus with all her heart; as well as dancing, road trips, gardening, and making others laugh. She was fun personified, and an active member of the community who spread love and joy to all she met.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Siderius, and her father, Basil Badley.

She is survived by her loving children Joe (Bre), Reid, and Shea Siderius; granddaughter, Josephine Siderius; mother, Pauline Coveney; in-laws, Jerry and Barbara Siderius; sister, Janet Thornton; and brothers, Marcus, Greg, Wally and Matt Badley.

Joan’s celebration of life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Sept. 7 at 1 p.m.

The family requests donations to Hope Pregnancy or Relay for Life.
