Garrison Keillor to judge Whitefish Review’s Humor Writing Contest
Garrison Keillor is serving as the final judge this year for the “Montana Prize for Humor” writing contest offered in three categories by Whitefish Review.
In 2021, Whitefish Review hosted its first humor writing contest, judged by a group including comedian Jimmy Kimmel and musician Huey Lewis.
Prize money totalling $1,500 will be split between three categories: true stories, figments of the imagination, and poetry. In addition to the prize money, the winners will be published in the winter/spring 2023 issue.
Keillor is an essayist and novelist, author of “Lake Wobegon Days,” “Pontoon,” “Boom Town,” and host of “A Prairie Home Companion” (1974-2016). The current issue of Whitefish Review (No. 27 - "The Vortex") contains an interview and short essay by the writer.
The contest is a fundraiser for Whitefish Review with a $22 entry fee. Submissions are accepted via the submission portal at www.whitefishreview.org.
Whitefish Review publishes art and literature that explores the landscapes of the human condition, our connection to the natural world, and illuminates the confluence of art, storytelling, society and science.
