Rumsey Eash tops field at Flathead Invite

Flathead’s Lilli Rumsey Eash surged to the front of the pack to win her second cross country meet of the season at the Flathead Invite at Rebecca Farm on Friday.

Rumsey Eash ran 18:51.71, a few ticks off her Aug. 26 time at the Libby Invite.

The Bravettes took the team title with a low score of 54, just ahead of second-place Corvallis, which scored 65.

Madelaine Jellison’s fifth-place finish helped with Flathead’s low score, as did 10th place Mikenna Conan.

The Columbia Falls girls were third at 67 points. Siri Erickson finished third and set a personal best time in the 5K, 19:51.15, and teammate Ally Sempf was eighth. Sempf also ran her personal best time, 20:39.74.

Libby’s Madison Vincent was seventh.

Alyssa Voellertsen and Anna Tretter of Glacier were 13th and 14th, respectively.

Sentinel ran away with the boys team title, scoring 31, well ahead of Mission at 93 points and Whitefish, third with 124. Flathead was next at 125.

Andrew Rush of Mission won the boys race, and Callum Coots of Sentinel led a 2-3-4 finish. Whitefish’s Mason Genovese was seventh, clocking 16:49.17. Teammate Nate Ingelfinger was 15th.

Bauer Hollman and Kasen Kastner of Flathead were 10th and 11th. Bigfork’s Jack Jensen finished 14th.
