Jason Lee Catron, 47
Jason Lee Catron, 47, of Bigfork, left us to pursue other adventures on Sept. 2, 2022, as the result of a tragic accident.
He was born April 9, 1975, in Sweeny, Texas, to Oren Lee Catron and Thorma Rhea (Lounsbury) Catron. Jason graduated in 1993 from Selah High School in Selah, Washington, as salutatorian of his class. He joined the Marine Corps after high school and graduated Company Honor Man.
Jason was one of the fortunate few to have found his dream career at an early age. His unique experiences in the commercial construction world enabled him to lead a variety of projects and he was particularly proud of the project that brought him to Montana: the 2003-2004 remodel of the Grizzly Stadium in Missoula. He lived in many states in the Pacific Northwest, but during childhood Jason enjoyed rodeo activities and hunting with his father and brother. Later, he enjoyed paddleboarding with his dog, Thor, in the summer as well as golfing. He was an avid skier and loved riding his sled up in the powder in the mountains in the winter. There was no activity that Jason wouldn’t try and he had a love of adventure rarely seen. On his first hunting trip to Africa, he used a traditional recurve bow to take five trophy animals and his favorite was the nyala that beat Fred Bear’s earlier record by 1/16.”
Jason placed high importance on personal growth and education and he married Gina Raye Bjorkman on May 20, 2022, in a beautiful ceremony in Whitefish.
Jason is survived by his loving wife, Gina, of Bigfork; his parents, Oren and Thorma (Lounsbury) Catron, of Hamilton; two sisters, Donna and Debra (Don) Russell; a brother, Daniel (Gina) Catron; and two stepchildren from a previous marriage, Brandon (Lynda) Isaacson of Yakima, Washington, and Shashonie Earhardt of Hamilton.
He is also survived by many, many loving friends, especially Bill and Rhonda (Tupper) Randall of Kalispell, and colleagues.
Jason was preceded in death by a brother, Ora Catron, who died in infancy; paternal grandmother, Della Maye Catron, of Seligman, Missouri; maternal grandmother, Lila Lounsbury and maternal grandfather Ervin Lounsbury, of Naches, Washington.
An outdoor service is planned for Saturday, Sept 17, between 2 and 5 p.m. at the Harbor Village Pavilion in Bigfork. John Creamer will officiate.

The family is asking for pictures, stories, and memories of Jason to preserve the vitality he possessed.
Jason was a man of many talents, a genuine and generous person who wanted to see everyone achieve their best self. He was truly one of a kind and will be missed by so many.
