Bravettes hold off the Pack late
Sophomore midfielder Kyrie Gislason had two goals for the Flathead Bravettes as they defeated the Glacier Wolfpack 3-2 at Legends Field on Thursday in Western AA soccer.
Senior forward Fiona Coulter also chipped in a goal for the Bravettes and freshman forward Avi Schmautz added an assist.
Bravettes head coach Zach Brenneman described the final minutes as "very exciting."
Glacier (2-5-0) made a late push by scoring a goal inside the final 10 minutes of the second half to bring the Wolfpack within one.
That's where the score would sit at the end of regulation as the Bravettes (2-4-1) defense clamped down to hold up the 3-2 lead and take home the crosstown victory.
Reagan Brisendine and Emmery Schmidt were Glacier’s goal-scorers and Abigail Foster picked up two assists.
Brisendine leads the state in goals with 17 goals.
Both teams get back in action on Friday: Helena Capital visits Flathead and Helena High is at Glacier.
