Butte rides 4 Hansen TDs to 40-0 win over Flathead

BUTTE — Butte’s Trey Hansen scored four touchdowns, and the Bulldog defense held Flathead to 168 yards in a 40-0 Western AA football win over the Braves Friday.

Hansen helped Butte to a 27-0 halftime lead with three short touchdown runs. His first, covering 3 yards, capped a 76-yard drive to open the game.

Bulldog quarterback Jace Stenson, who threw for 218 yards and a touchdown, added a 10-yard scoring run in the second quarter.

Nate Skonard threw for 76 yards and ran for 21 to lead the Flathead offense. The Braves’ first two drives reached Butte’s 23-yard line, before one ended on downs and another with an interception. Flathead (1-3) didn’t reach midfield again until the final play of the game.

Braden Capser had 12 tackles and Caiyou Witts 10 for the Flathead defense. Tanner Heichel and Gabe Lake added nine stops each, and Brandon Lewis had a sack.
