Prep football: Whitefish, Polson and Bigfork roll

WHITEFISH — Fynn Ridgeway threw three touchdown passes, Ty Schwaiger ran for two scores and the Whitefish Bulldogs shut out East Helena 35-0 in Western A football Friday.

Ridgeway was 10 of 14 passing for 194 yards. He found Mason Kelch for touchdowns covering 33 and 7 yards, and hit Clayton Godsey for 45 yards and another score.

Ridgeway was also the team’s leading rusher with 73 yards on five carries. Schwaiger ran seven times for 56 yards, including a 44-yard touchdown in the first quarter.

Godsey had 98 receiving yards and Kelch, 66. Each caught three passes for the Bulldogs, now 4-1 overall and in league games.

Carson Krack picked off a pass for the Bulldog defense.

East Helena fell to 1-4.

Polson 49, Libby 0

POLSON — Jarrett Wilson threw for 365 yards and six touchdowns for the Polson Pirates, who won their Homecoming game in emphatic fashion.

Wilson completed 26 of 35 passes and also added a short scoring run for the Pirates (5-0).

He found Trent Wilson with scoring passes covering 20 and 8 yards; he had seven catches for 113 yards. Brock Henriksen caught TD passes of 33 and 30 yards.

Tyler Wenderoth, who had eight catches for 98 yards, and Dawson Dumont also scored through the air for Polson, which outgained the Loggers (2-3) 474-69.

Keene Jaren had a game-high 52 yards on seven carries for the Pirates.

Bigfork 65, Thompson Falls 6

THOMPSON FALLS — Joseph Farrier ran for two touchdowns, caught a 67-yard pass for another and Bigfork ran away from Thompson Falls in a Western B game.

Farrier gained 92 yards on just five carries; his scoring reception was one of two thrown by Viking quarterback Tristen Herd.

Nick Walker had six carries for 102 yards for the Vikings (4-0, 1-0 in league), including an 84-yard scoring burst. He also caught a 5-yard pass from Wyatt Johnson. Johnson, meanwhile, had TD runs of 26 and 8 yards.

Herd completed 4 of 5 passes for 110 yards. Jackson Nelson added a touchdown rushing and Elijah Thorness had a TD reception. Manny Baldi had six tackles, including a safety in the first quarter, to lead the Bigfork defense. Malachi Comly had an interception.

Bryson LeCoure was 9 of 17 passing for 145 yards for the Bluehawks, the defending State 8-man champions who are in their first year back up in Class B. LeCoure hit Braxton Dorscher with a 23-yard touchdown pass for Thompson Falls (0-5, 0-1), which was out-gained 386-196.

The Bluehawk defense got eight tackles for Gabriel Hutton.

Florence 48, Eureka 15

EUREKA — Florence quarterback Patrick Duchien threw five touchdown passes — all in the first half — to lead the Falcons to the Western B win.

Duchien was 16 of 19 passing for 306 yards and Florence. The defending State B champions, led 48-7 at halftime and impvoed to 4-1 overall, and 1-0 in league.

Tyler Abbott scored on passes of 23, 63 and 32 yards and finished with six catches for 170 yards. Brodie Hinsdale and Isaac Bates also caught TD passes, and Colten Rice added scoring runs of 41 and 10 yards for the Falcons. Rice had nine carries for 57 yards.

For Eureka (3-2, 0-1), Haiden Johnson picked up 150 rushing yards on 16 carries. He scored both of the Lions’ TDs, on runs of 74 and 7 yards.

Tristan Butts threw for 55 yards for Eureka, completing 6 of 14 passes. He was intercepted twice.
