| September 25, 2022 12:00 AM

Brandon Wayne Hoffenbacker, 35, born April 10, 1987, passed away Sept. 10, 2022, due to complications from colon cancer.

Brandon was born in Bozeman to Bill and Holly Hoffenbacker. Brandon was the oldest of five children. Brandon cherished his family. He was always there for advice, support or just a listening ear. Brandon touched the lives of everyone he came in touch with. He never judged anyone and found the positive in everyone. One of his favorite joys was taking his niece, Kaina Jean, and nephew, Brooks Chesley, for a ride in his red pick-up truck. They held a special place in his heart. Brandon had numerous friends, too many to mention, but he cherished all of their friendships. Brandon loved the outdoors. His favorite spot was Thompson River, where he spent countless days at hunting camp with friends and family. It was his dream to have a place of his own on Thompson River for friends and family to enjoy.

Brandon excelled at all sports he participated in, which were many. At the young age of 5, he traveled with the Butte youth wrestling club to California, where he took first place in his division. He was a state champion for the Flathead Braves wrestling team. He also enjoyed baseball, from Tee ball to PeeWee, and later played for the Kalispell Lakers. He was one of the first freshmen to start on the Flathead Braves varsity football team. He earned numerous awards during his sporting career. Upon graduating from Flathead, he joined the Montana State Bobcats football team. Regardless of his achievements, he never bragged or considered himself above anyone.

In November 2016, Brandon joined his father Bill in running the family business, Hoffenbacker’s Discount Floors and More. He took great pride in his work and strived to please everyone. A few years later his sister Lyndsey joined the family business. He was so proud of how quickly she learned the business and would joke how she kept everyone in line, especially Bill.

Brandon was proud of all his siblings. His advice and wisdom helped all of them achieve their goals. He would brag about his sister Maci for being independent and her first year of golf where she won just about every tournament she was in. He had great respect for his brothers Dustin and Colton Hoffenbacker for being hard working and amazing fathers.

Brandon is survived by his parents Bill and Holly Hoffenbacker, brothers Dustin Hoffenbacker (wife Kendrik Hoffenbacker and niece Kaina Jean) and Colton Hoffenbacker (wife Hillary Hoffenbacker and nephew Brooks Chesley), and sisters Lyndsey Hoffenbacker and Maci Hoffenbacker; and hHis furry companions Blue and Willow; they never left his side. They will be lost without him; and his numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. There are far too many to list, but Brandon would want each and everyone of them to know how he loved and appreciated all of you. We’ll miss your bear hugs and “mom meatloaf now,” but you are forever in our hearts and souls. We hope you're hunting, fishing and enjoying the things you love. Rest in peace our “gentle giant” and continue to spread love.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
