The first Crosstown volleyball match of the season is set for tonight at Flathead High School, at 7 p.m.

Both schools made last year’s State AA tournament — Flathead won one match, and Glacier went 0-2 — with Glacier qualifying for a second straight season.

This year they’re middle of the pack in the Western AA: Glacier, in its first year under coach Courtney Baker, is 3-3 in league matches. Flathead, under third-year coach Emily Russell, is 2-4. The Bravettes swept the regular-season crosstown matchups in 2021.

The Wolfpack is led by senior Maddie Frazier, a second-team All-State pick in 2021, junior setter Haven Speer and junior Ella Farrell.

Farrell is among the Class AA leaders in blocks; Frazier is among the leaders in aces and digs.

Flathead is led by Sienna Sterck, Cyan Mooney, Olive Lyngholm and Amelia Mason.

Lyngham leads AA in aces, while Sterck is fourth in aces and in the top in scoring (kills, aces and blocks). Mason is third in the Western AA in assists per set.
