Beverly Jean Fisher, 93

| April 14, 2023 12:00 AM

Beverly "Bev" Jean Hanley Fisher, 93, went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 10, 2023, in Bigfork, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Walkerville on Sept. 24, 1929 to Lee and Louisa Hill Hanley.

She lived and worked in Walkerville until a stranger called and asked her for a date. In typical Beverly fashion, she told the stranger that she didn't go on blind dates. To which the stranger responded in typical Stanley fashion, "That's good, because I'm not blind!" That "stranger," Stanley "Stan" M. Fisher, would become the love of her life, her husband for 70 years. Their commitment to each other would weather many storms and be a shining example of unconditional love.

Wherever she and Stan lived, Beverly was an active participant in the church, community and of course, politics. Beverly and Stan were one of six couples who founded the Klein United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. After raising four children, Bev became the chief clerk for the district judge in Humble, Texas. Upon Stan's retirement from Exxon, she and Stan returned to Montana and built a home in Bigfork. They traveled the world extensively and created great memories for both themselves and their children. Whenever they were in Bigfork, Bev volunteered at the Community United Methodist Church, Bigfork Art Center and the Lighthouse Christian Home.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Louisa Hill Hanley Benson and Lee Hanley, and her brother Don Hanley.

She is survived by her devoted husband Stan Fisher, her brother Bruce Hanley; her son Gregg Fisher; her daughter Karen Ball; Paul Fisher (Millie); Brian Fisher (Stephanie); nine grandchildren, Kaelin, Derek, Audrey, Shane, Cody, Emily, Grant, Blake, Alexandra; and four great-grandchildren, Nolan, Cole, Eli, and Hayes. Bev's love, faith, compassion and smile will live on forever in our hearts and minds. "There is absolutely nothing to fear about tomorrow for God is already there"...(Psalm 91.4)

The Fisher family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers from Logan Health Hospice for their tenderness and support during Beverly's final days.

Bev's celebration of life will be on April 17, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Bigfork United Community Methodist Church, 750 Electric Ave., Bigfork, MT 59911.
