Bigfork Community Players make a toast with 'Drinking Habits'
The Bigfork Community Players plan to uncork the laughs in their performance of “Drinking Habits,” which opens Friday at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts.
This farcical play by Tom Smith is about a convent trying to keep its doors open by secretly making and selling wine. When two investigative reporters, who are ex-fiances, show up disguised as a nun and priest in an attempt to uncover the covert winery operation, trouble follows. Around the same time as their arrival, another actual nun joins the convent. Incidents of mistaken identities, lost loves and accusations that Rome has sent spies, unfold in comedic fashion, and the two reporters, who were trying to break the story, end up becoming part of it.
Director John Goroski said the cast includes a mix of experienced local actors and new faces gracing the stage for the first time.
“I’m having a good time directing this cast of characters,” Goroski said. “I think the audiences will find it a real treat.”
