Law roundup: Sisters throw punches for front seat
Two sisters allegedly got into a punching match after arguing over who would sit in the front seat of a car in a grocery store parking lot. Their mother asked them to break it up and one of the sisters got out of the car and called the Kalispell Police Department. One sister had a minor bruise on her cheek and a scratch on her arm. She agreed to be picked up by a friend. Parties were counseled.
A gray-haired man was allegedly discovered in the engine of a locomotive by someone who told officers he was unhappy to be disturbed. They said the man and other people have been living in the locomotive. The man gathered his belongings and was issued a citation by the police and released.
Officers received a later call about three kids “terrorizing” the homeless. The passerby said the kids came down from graffiti rock by Woodland Park and jumped on the train, hitting it with the bat and harassing the man while he removed garbage after being cited for trespassing earlier in the day. The kids left in a maroon Pontiac when they saw the passerby calling 911. Officers were unable to locate the kids.
A concerned mother asked officers to provide extra patrol around her home after her daughter reportedly told her a stranger came to the house and banged on the windows, knocked on the door and tried to open it and then left. The daughter told officers the stranger was a bearded man who “looked homeless.”
A customer wearing a camo-printed shirt, khakis and a baseball cap allegedly stole a pocket knife and tried taking more, but his attempts were thwarted when an employee tackled him in the parking lot and the merchandise was recovered.
A man and woman were reportedly arguing in the parking lot and he hit her in the eye. The pair went into a room where two children were.
A man’s ex-wife allegedly showed up to his location and began taking photos of him eating and he complained that she was harassing him and “verbally attacking” and threatening his friends. Dispatch thought he sounded like he had been drinking, which he denied. An officer told him he could not prevent his ex from taking photos of him in a location where he has no expectation of privacy and was counseled about how to obtain a temporary restraining order.
Officers responded to a request for extra patrol in a parking lot during the night where there reportedly was an ongoing issue of people stealing parts off cars and drugs being sold.
A vehicle allegedly almost collided with someone by the courthouse and the driver got out of his vehicle and began arguing with the person who argued with dispatch about being within his rights to engage with the driver after being told multiple times not to and refused to give more information unless law enforcement caught up with the driver who took off.
A semi was reportedly driving behind a maroon Subaru that was weaving between lanes and almost went into the ditch. The semi-driver said the Subaru’s driving became progressively worse as it traveled from Marion to Kalispell.
