Law roundup: These boots were made for walking right out the door
A woman wearing a brown-gray jacket and brown boots was reportedly walking through a store knocking things off shelves and shoving things into her bag before heading to the door where a truck was waiting. An assistant manager asked officers to give her a “lifetime trespass.”
A man allegedly went to a location to pick up a free camper he found online and arrived at the location to find it sitting on cinder blocks and the back door unlocked. Inside, he discovered a man who he wasn’t sure was breathing and told the Kalispell Police Department he didn’t look good and noted the camper smelled like what he believed was methamphetamine.
Store security asked officers for assistance in moving along an uncooperative woman wearing black pants and a black tank top when she allegedly refused to leave and caused a scene by taking photos of the individual. She and her financé were escorted out of the store and told they would be trespassing if they returned. He reportedly recorded the individual grabbing her phone and said they often get followed by security “even though they spend a lot of money there” and wanted to know if this behavior was allowed. He was advised of his civil options.
Someone called the police — although they reportedly said they had no idea what was going on — to report a man in a blue sedan pointing a gun at another man on the street. All parties stated the incident was verbal only and the man denied flashing a gun.
A shirtless barefoot man allegedly ran around a parking lot digging in garbage cans and screaming obscenities after being kicked off the property once before.
A driver reportedly almost hit three to four vehicles and was swerving on the road, speeding and then parked and hit something and flipped everyone off.
A “dope-sick” man wrapped in a gray towel on the corner of an apartment complex allegedly told someone who wanted him to move along that he was coming off of fentanyl. They told officers they gave him some food and a blanket but could not be in the parking lot.
Someone thought it was very suspicious that a motorcycle was sitting behind a shed in a field. Eventually, the rider and the motorcycle moved on.
A manager alleged that a man was huffing cleaning products in a bathroom and had everyone inside the business go outside because of the strong chemical smell. The employee told officers the man was in the bathroom for about 25 minutes and he didn’t respond to his yells. Officers didn’t locate any drugs and the man moved along.
A man thought he bought into a scam over the phone after he allegedly put money into cryptocurrency. He was advised to report the fraud online at the Federal Trade Commission website.
