Olney-Bissell School kicks off school year

The first day of school at Olney-Bissell is Aug. 23.

The K-8 school is projected to start the 2023-24 school year with 110 students.

Olney-Bissell welcomes staff members Brooke Soley, who will teach third grade, Spring Thompson, who will teach fifth through eighth-grade math and paraprofessional Caroline Richards.

Major maintenance projects completed over the summer include installation of a modular building to add two classrooms and a new roof cover.

Students are asked to drop off school supplies and meet their teachers at an open house scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 23 at the school, 5955 Farm to Market Road, Whitefish.
