Orville Baumgartner, 92

Orville L. Baumgartner, 92 of Columbia Falls, went peacefully home to be with his heavenly Father on August 19, 2023, surrounded by his wife and family.

He was born on December 5, 1930, in Stanley, North Dakota. Son of Herbert and Bertha Baumgartner. He was baptized, confirmed, and remained active in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church his whole life.

After graduation from high school, he entered the US Navy and served in the Korean War. Upon returning from the service, he married Joyce Thronson on June 5, 1955.

He moved to Montana in 1967, with his wife Joyce and five children where he enjoyed raising cattle. He worked at the Anaconda Aluminum Company, retiring after 26 years.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joyce; his children, Pam Randazzo, Peggy Martin (Wes), Kathy Suvak (Dave), Jim Baumgartner (Debby), and Jeff Baumgartner; his grandchildren, Kristel and Meghan Jones, Heather, Sal and Heidi Randazzo, Kyle and Kayla Suvak; and ten great-grandchildren.

He was a loving husband and father, good neighbor and good friend. He will be missed by all.

There will be a graveside service with military honors at 10 a.m. on August 28, at Fairview Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 640 7th St. W., Columbia Falls, followed by a luncheon.
