Take a page out of history and learn the art of bookbinding at the Northwest Montana History Museum in Kalispell.

For the second time this year, the museum is offering a bookbinding course in the fall. The course encompasses eight evening classes taught by the museum’s executive director and longtime bookbinder, Margaret Davis, who studied the art in China and has taught and lectured on the subject.

No previous experience is required, but students should have manual dexterity, an ability to follow multiple steps and an interest in developing hand skills. Basic tools and materials will be provided. Students will complete multiple books to take home by the end of the course.

Classes will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 6 through Oct. 25 at the museum, 124 2nd Ave. E., Kalispell.

The course fee is $150 or $140 for museum members. Registration and payment are required in advance. Space is limited.
