Motorcyclist dies after hitting power pole near Whitefish
Alcohol, drugs and speed are suspected as factors in a fatal motorcycle crash near Whitefish on Aug. 29, according to Montana Highway Patrol.
A 41-year-old man from Granada Hills, California died in the single-vehicle wreck on Hodgson Road near Hare Trail in Happy Valley.
According to the crash report, the man was driving a Honda motorcycle at 6:10 p.m. when he veered off the right side of the road, rolled and hit a power pole.
The driver died at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.
Road conditions were listed as dry.
