Wachholz College Center holds music events
Two music events are coming to the Wachholz College Center.
Brining an exciting lineup of talented artists from all over the world, the International Guitar Night is at 7 p.m. on Feb. 5.
North America’s finest venues are thrilled to be hosting the 23rd anniversary of International Guitar Night, an event curated by International Guitar Night founder Brian Gore.
Performers Olli Soikkeli (Finland), Stephanie Jones (Australia), Jesús Guerrero (Spain) and Jocelyn Gould (Canada) will bring their guitars, their talents and a good time across the U.S. and Canada.
Newcomers and returning veterans of the tour will collaborate their unique styles together to create an unforgettable series of performances. The audience can expect to enjoy a mosaic of classical guitar, modern fingerstyle, flamenco, jazz, gypsy jazz stylings and so much more.

THEN THE Impact World Strings Chamber Ensemble presents Wai Mizutani and Wei-Yi Sun in “Music Of The Legends, Tribute 1: Heifetz, The King Of Strings” at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11.
Wai Mizutani, a world-famous violinist and Juilliard graduate, proudly presents his new concert series, “Music of the Legends,” held at the Wachholtz College Center. Each concert in “Music of the Legends” focuses on a specific brilliant composer or an outstanding genre of music. This concert, “Heifetz- King of Strings,” features compositions and arrangements of Jascha Heifetz, one of history's most prolific and genius violinists.
Mizutani has performed worldwide with orchestras; among them are the Juilliard Symphony Orchestra, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, and symphony orchestras throughout Europe and Asia. He has also performed at famed venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, Avery Fisher Hall and the Kennedy Center. Wai has won many awards, including the Young Concert Artist Award in New York; the Music Teacher National Association Top Prize; the Hong Kong International Violin Competition Top Honor; and the Beijing International Violin Competition Top Prize.
Performing with Wai Mizutani as a special guest artist for “Heifetz, The King of Strings” is Wei-Yi Sun (way-yee soon), a solo and accompanying pianist of outstanding talent and accreditation. Sun has performed and won many awards locally and internationally including many recitals in the States, Taiwan, France and Italy. Sun won the gold medal in the Forte International Music Competition and was one of the semi-finalists in the NTD International Piano Competition in New York. Several honors she has received include the first prize of MTNA Competition (Ohio State Division); First Prize of Ohio MTA Graves Piano Competition; and the Ohio Federation of Music Clubs Award.She is currently teaching at a university in Ohio but originally hails from Taiwan.
