Boys hoops: Reagan drops 30, Browning outscores Polson 93-80

BROWNING — Robert Reagan scored 30 points, and Browning made a 25-9 lead after one quarter stand up for a 93-80 victory over Polson in Northwest A boys basketball Friday.

Reagan scored 11 points, hitting the first two of his four 3-pointers, in Browning’s opening salvo.

Maurice Redhorn III added three 3-pointers and 21 points for the Indians (11-4 overall, 8-1 in the Northwest A). Brayds Vielle hit a pair of threes and scored 20, and Jaamerson Lazy Boy also hit two threes.

Dawson DuMont poured in 20 fourth-quarter points and finished with 28 for Polson (6-10, 4-5), which dropped its fifth straight. He hit four 3-pointers. Jarrett Wilson added 19 for the Pirates, and Espn Fisher checked in with 13.

CUT BANK — While Mason Kelch was pouring in 24 points for Whitefish, Cut Bank was getting the same production from Jaydas Running Wolf to take a non-conference win Friday.

Running Wolf scored 24 points, nine coming in overtime — and that included a 7-for-8 performance on free throws. Before that he hit three 3-pointers for the Class B Wolves (7-4).

Kelch matched Running Wolf with nine overtime points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Jack Sears added 16 points for the Northwest A Bulldogs: He hit six free throws and scored eight in the fourth quarter to help force the extra period.

WHITEFISH — Mason Kelch hit two second-quarter 3-pointers on the way to 18 points, and the Whitefish Bulldogs picked up their third Northwest A victory in four games.

Jack Sears added 15 points for the Bulldogs (4-9 overall, 3-5 in league), who hit four 3-pointers in the second quarter — Josh Downie and Dane Hunt also hit from downtown — to open up a 27-11 halftime lead.

Kolby Finley and Marlo Tonasket had nine points each to lead the Chiefs (6-9, 2-6 in the Northwest A).

BIGFORK — Nick Walker scored 18 points and snared 11 rebounds to lead Bigfork to another District 7-B victory.

Isak Epperly and Bryce Gilliard hit three 3-pointers each and combined for 28 points for the Vikings (13-3 overall, 9-0 in 7-B games), who jumped out to leads of 26-6 and 46-8 in the first half. Walker was 9 of 11 shooting; Eli Thorness had 11 points, including a game-ending dunk.

Cody Todd scored seven points to lead the Trojans (2-13, 0-9).

Saturday’s scheduled boys and girls basketball games between visiting Shelby and Columbia Falls have been called off because of travel concerns.

Columbia Falls athletic director Troy Bowman announced the cancellation via Facebook post, and added that rescheduling the non-conference games was not likely.
